Become a professional “life Dj”

Have you wondered what’s it like to be a Dj? If you’re not familiar with the term, “a Dj (also known as disk jokey, Dj or deejay) is a person who selects and plays recorded music for an audience.”[1] While playing, they record their selection of tracks thus creating dj “sets” which can be played later by radio stations, or distributed as audio podcasts for the Internet users.

The DJs use special equipment to stitch tracks, match beats and add special audio effects to their sets. Famous DJs are great marketing tools for the underground artists as they play their tracks in front of large audiences. In the same time, there are underground DJs who become famous after producing a great remix of already an already popular artist. There are also DJs who create their own tracks. A good example is Booka Shade from Get Physical Records.

A while ago, I came up with this metaphor: A DJ is similar to a person that creates dreams consciously. DJs define a style of their own by carefully selecting and/or creating soundtracks. In general, the people that dream consciously, define their life by carefully selecting and/or creating their dreams.

Just like the DJs that become famous for their unique way of selecting and playing music, anyone can create a mark in the world by designing and accomplishing their dreams. I believe that the beauty of life comes from learning to Dj inspiring dreams. Here is my “life dj set“. Would you be interested to create your own?
